Chili Cook-off - THE OLD PAGE

Here's How it Works

Volunteers each donate a crock-pot of chili made with their secret family recipe.

While at the cook-off guests are asked to sample each chili and vote on their favorite.  The winner gets bragging rites for the next year and a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

During the dinner a fun basket, donated by a volunteer,  is raffled off.

How Can a Volunteer Help?
  • Help with ticket sales

  • Help with shopping before the cook-off (An Excel spreadsheet is available and covers the complete shopping list.)

  • Set up the back of church (Maintenance can help with the heavy lifting ahead of time if a request is given to the office.)

  • Set up dinner supplies

  • Donate a basket full of fun stuff (non-alcoholic) to be raffled

  • Donate a first-prize gift certificate (Example: a $25 gift certificate for Fiesta Jalapeno’s)

  • Coordinate chili voting materials

  • Help with clean-up and tear down
